Nearly half of Haysville was built between 1970 and 1999, the era that produced Timberlane Village, Country Lakes, and the subdivisions around them. These slab and basement homes are now 30 to 55 years old — exactly the window when the lowland soil map starts asserting itself. The sandy loams compact and wash unevenly, producing cracked slabs and differential settlement. The scattered pockets of Tabler silty clay swell in wet springs and shrink hard in 100-degree Kansas summers, flexing foundations season after season.
